Beer drinking games are usually the main events at parties, barbeques and even breweries. They are easy to learn, can keep a crowd occupied for hours and always get more fun as the nights goes on.

You’ve already seen our list of 8 all-time best drinking games as well as 5 best drinking games available on Amazon. While many of those games involve beer, we thought it was necessary to specifically list out our favorite beer-only drinking games.

Here are some of our favorite drinking games that only involve beer!

Never Have I Ever

A timeless classic. All you need is beer. The rules are simple– you each take turns saying something you’ve never done before in the format “Never have I ever ____”. Anyone who has done it takes a sip of their beer. This game can help break the ice in a very innocent way, or it can be used to find the deepest, darkest, most embarrassing secrets among your friends!

Most Likely

Most Likely is similar to Never Have I Ever in that it only requires beer, however the main difference is the game only really works with people you know well. The game works by peopl taking turns finishing the sentence, “Most likely to _____”. After each statement, everyone points to a person who they feel is most likely to do that very thing. You must take as many sips of beer as fingers are pointed to you.

We know this list is only of beer-drinking games, but Never Have I Ever and Most Likely are also great games to play while sipping Moscow Mules! Here our favorite Moscow Mule recipe as well as the only copper mugs we recommend you drink them out of!

Ladder Golf

Ladder Golf is a great game to play with friends outside on a beautiful day. The game is very simple– you place the ladders about 10 yards apart, and with two people on each side you take turns throwing the bolos towards the other ladder. Bolos that land on the first ladder are 3 points, second ladder is 2 points and the third ladder is 1 point. First team to 21 wins. You can either sip beer during the game casually, or you can have the losers shotgun a beer at the end– totally up to you!

Cornhole

Cornhole is a classic outdoor drinking game. Perfect for beaches, tailgates or just backyard fun. Like Ladder Golf, you place the platforms about 10 yards apart, with two people on each side. You take turns trying to toss beanbags through the hole on the other platform. A beanbag that lands on the platform is 1 point and if it goes through the hole it’s 3 points. Typically, one player across from you is on your team, but each side takes turns tossing the beanbags. When your side is completely done tossing the beanbags, the accumulated score is simply the net number of points– so if you got 5 points and your opponent got 2 points that round, then you earned 3 points that round. First team to 21 wins, and you must get exactly 21!

Beer Pong

Beer Pong, also known as Beirut, is a classic. It doesn’t need an explanation because you probably know how to play already. But basically you set up solo cups on either end of a folding table — or an official beer pong table if you’re feeling fancy — and fill them up with a small amount of beer each. Then you take turns trying to toss ping pong balls into the cups on the other side. Every time a shot is made, someone on that side has to remove the cup from the game and drink its contents. Last team with cups remaining on the table wins!

Civil War

Civil War is very similar to Beer Pong, but the main difference is that it is rapid fire instead of each side taking their turn to shoot. Also, instead of two players on each side there are three, and instead of one side having their own 3-2-1 triangle of solo cups, each player has a 3-2-1 triangle of solo cups in front of them. The game is very simple– rapid fire, and once you’re out of cups you cannot shoot anymore. Last side with players still in the game wins.

Slap Cup

Like Beer Pong, all you need for Slap Cup is a lot of solo cups, beer, and two ping pong balls. This game is a bit more complicated than Beer Pong.

You take a LOT of solo cups (think 30+), fill them each with a small amount of beer, and arrange them in all in the middle of the table. Fill one cup in the very center to the rim.

You start with two empty solo cups around the table, and each cup has a ping pong ball with it. The point of the game is to bounce the ping pong ball into the cup. If you get it in the first time, you can pass anywhere. If it takes you more than one attempt, you must pass the cup and the ball to your right once you get it in.

The game gets interesting when two people right next to each other have an empty cup. If the person to the left gets it in before the person to the right, the person to the left gets to slap the person to their right’s cup off the table. That person must then grab a new cup from the center, drink it’s contents, and now that cup becomes the empty cup they must get their ping pong ball into.
