Vodka is the most versatile liquor available. From vodka, you can make exquisite cocktails, quick drinks, or you can shoot it. Today, we’re going to focus on all the possibilities you have with vodka shots and shooters.
Obviously you want to exercise caution and drink responsibly when focusing on shots. It’s very easy to consume too much too fast, especially if you’re playing some of our favorite shot games! With that being said, here are our favorite vodka shot and shooter recipes!
1. Blue Kamikaze Shot
Ingredients: 1 Part Vodka, 1 Part Blue Curaçao, 1 Part Lime Juice
Our all-time favorite and a colorful variation of the classical “Kamikaze”-shot. Blue, ice-cold and a must-have for a crazy night-out!
You can also mix that little bad-boy with easy at home…in case your home-party needs a little boost.
Put everything in a shaker with ice. Shake, shake, shake and let’s GO!
For the original Kamikaze simply replace the Blue Curaçao with Triple Sec. Easy. By the way…the Japanese word “Kamikaze” stands for “god-wind”. Sounds mighty…IT IS! Who said you can’t combine learning with alcohol?
Ingredients: 1 Part Vodka, 1 Part Triple Sec, 1 Part Lime Juice
2. Cherry Bomb Shot
Ingredients: 1.5 Parts Cherry Vodka, 4 Parts Red Bull
This favorite shot of ours is one of the most delicious shots that basically any bar can mix up for you! Ask for a cherry on the top for the perfect chaser snack!
Trying doing it yourself is also worth the shot (you see what we did there?). Mix Red Bull and the Cherry Vodka according to the receipt, pour it in shot glass, drink. Nom.
3. Lemon Drop Shot
Ingredients: 2 Parts Vodka, 1 Part Lemon Juice, A Splash of Simple Syrup
Another great shot that any bartender (or any of you!) could make for you on the spot with the supplies they have.
Top it off with a freshly sliced lime for a great taste sensation. They are also perfect for drinking games. Check out our collection: Drinking Game!
4. Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Shot
Ingredients: ¾ oz Vanilla Vodka, ¾ oz Pineapple Juice, 1 Splash Grenadine
This is a specialty shot that most bartenders probably haven’t heard of, let alone made before. Save your bartender the trouble and keep this one in your back pocket for when you have friends over and all the necessary supplies on hand.
In case you want to try doing this little sweet tooth yourself, you can as well use normal Vodka and give it a splash of Vanilla Syrup.
5. Birthday Cake Shot
Ingredients: 1 Part Vodka, 1 Part Chocolate Liqueur, some Sprinkles
This is another specialty shot that you usually cannot order out at bars. Perfect for any birthday celebration when you have all the supplies on hand. Very delicious!
To get the sprinkles to stick better to the shot glass cover the top with a little bit of syrup.
Ingredients: 3 Parts Vodka, 1 Part Vermouth, a couple drops of Olive Juice, (tiny swords)
When you don’t feel like mixing up a fancy cocktail, it’s always very easy to make some dirty martini shooters! Basically the same ingredients and directions as a normal dirty martini but less mixing and shaking, just easy pouring! To get that extra feeling of being a real pirate get some olives and some tiny swords. ARRR!
7. Peanut Buttery Shot
Ingredients: 1 Part Coffee Liqueur, 1Part Hazelnut Liqueur, 1 Part Irish Cream, a little bit of Peanut Butter
Want to enjoy some dessert shooters? This peanut buttery shot is perfect! Sweet, full, heavy and delicious. Probably not something you want to order out at a bar but definitely a great option when entertaining at home! A great set I got some time ago and had always everything I needed to mix up a drink:
- BARTENDING KIT: Handpicked and crafted by bartenders, this 23 piece, bar tool set has a silver...
- SLEEK STORAGE STAND: The sophisticated wooden bamboo stand is designed with designated utensil...
By the way for a good shot you can use whatever shot glasses you have at home….ooor….you get some more fancy stuff. Check those bad boys out!
